Singapore Preschool Enrichment Programmes

PERSONALISED READING PROGRAMME
AVAILABLE IN BOTH ENGLISH & MANDARIN
The personalised reading programme improves the language proficiency of our students and helps teachers systematically track their language progress and development during their time at Phyllis Riccia School.

THE PERFORMING ARTS PROGRAMME
AVAILABLE IN BOTH ENGLISH & MANDARIN
The performing arts programme which encompasses speech, music, dance and drama is tailored to encourage creativity and to invoke a sense of interest in artistic expression while spurring our students’ imagination. This may include rhymes, plays, or musicals that will expose them to a diverse range of emotions and culture which will help to add flair to a child’s personality growth.

FUN WITH CREATIVE ART PROGRAMME
This programme involves a more hands-on approach and encourages children to paint, draw and design their works of art. While it is important to be proficient in logical aspects of education like Science and Math, children must learn to express their creativity in the form of tangible art in the form of drawings or even origami. Being creative often translates into better problem-solving skills which is why this programme remains a pertinent part of the Phyllis Riccia School curriculum.

OUTDOOR EXPERIENCE
Since 2003, the Singapore Ministry of Education has shifted its pre-school curriculum policy to emphasize more child-centred instruction and play.
The value of play-based learning is emphasized in the early childhood education curriculum, and research shows that children’s learning achievements are higher in play-based programmes than in academic-focused early childhood programmes.
At Phyllis Riccia School, outdoor play is incorporated into the curriculum for all programmes at all levels.

MOVE & GROOVE ACTIVE KIDS PROGRAMME
Physical fitness and health are very important and thus, this programme has children involved in a variety of physical activities. This programme is in place to ensure that your children maintain their physical fitness and remain healthy throughout their early years.
